Best Drones For Commercial Use Today we’re going to be looking at the best drones for commercial use, which I was inspired to write after reading this article on the best professional drones for filming. There are a lot of drones currently available at a variety of price ranges, but finding the best drone for commercial use can be hard. In this article I am going to tell you what to look for, some of the best drones and how you can use them to make money. What To Look For In A Commercial Drone When looking for a professional standard quad, you should pay close attention to certain aspects of its build. For example, you’re going to want a flight time as long as possible, ideally more than 23 minutes. Any less than that, it will get annoying have to change battery constantly. As well as this you’re going to want a decent maximum range of atleast 1km, as this gives you plenty of freedom in the air. Similarly, you will need a good quality camera, the better the quality the more you will be able to charge. In this day and age 4k is always good, but 1080p is the minimum quality you should film in. Best Drones For Commercial Use They Yuneec Typhoon H is easily one of the best drones for commercial use and will meet and exceed your expectations. The drone features a 25-minute flight time, a 4k camera and a maximum range of 1mile. To top this all of the drones’ camera is able to rotate all the way round, which is a fantastic feature for filmmakers. The drone features duel operator control, which means one person can control the drone and the other person control the camera. The drones’ rotor arms lift up when it takes off so that they don’t get in the way of the camera. The Yuneec also has some fantastic intelligent flight modes that allow the drone to fly autonomously. These result in some very high quality looking footage. The next drone on our list of the best drones for commercial use is the DJI Phantom 4 Pro, which is a truly fantastic drone. If you can look past DJI’s bad reputation for customer care, then the Phantom 4 Pro is a brilliant option. The drone features a whopping 30 minutes of flight time, a maximum range of 7km and a 4k camera, which is attached via a 3-axis gimbal. What’s more the drone possesses a number of obstacle avoidance sensors, which make its variety of intelligent flight modes a lot safer. The Phantom 4 Pro is also able to automatically return to home, take off and land. The final drone on our list of the best drone for commercial use is the DJI Mavic Pro. This is one of the world’s most popular drones and for good reason. The drones’ rotor arms are able to fold into the body, which makes it extremely compact and therefore easy to transport. The Mavic has a 4k camera, a range of 7km and a 27-minute flight time. The drone is also able to perform a number of intelligent flight modes that deliver spectacular results. Ways To Make Money From A Drone Now we’ve gone over some of the best drones for commercial use, lets take a look at some of the ways you’re able to make money with them.
The First way you can make money with your drone is to shoot some real estate videos and photographs. This is an extremely popular method of monetizing your drone and can be very profitable if done correctly. Another way is shoot live events such as festivals and music gigs. You could also use your drone for inspections, mapping, surveying, and aerial surveillance. Try and find people who would benefit from your services and approach them, get creative!

This weeks drone video is an awesome 4k piece by YouTuber The Uforia Films, head over to their channel to check them out! Hey guys, today we're going to be looking at some of the best drones with Follow Me functionality. For those of you who don't know, follow me is when the drone is able to lock onto the pilots location and autonomously follow them. This is extremely handy as it allows for some awesome looking shots without having to pilot the drone yourself. For a drone to have a follow me function, it must have a GPS positioning. Another similar function is Active Track, which is where, using the drones camera you select an object that you want the drone to follow. These two are very similar, however follow me works by tracking the positioning of the transmitter, as opposed to following an object selected on screen. Ok, lets get to it. 1. DJI Mavic Pro The DJI Mavic Pro is one of the most popular drones in the world. This is due to its long flight time of 27 minutes and its 4k shooting capabilities. The drone is able to reach a maximum distance of 7km, which is pretty much the furthers any consumer drones are able to go at the moment. The Mavic pro comes with a whole array of intelligent flight modes other than follow me, consisting of tap to fly, active track, way points and point of interest. All this put together with its compact design and ease of use make it easily one of the best drones around today. 2. DJI Phantom 4 Pro Up next is the DJI Phantom 4 Professional, another fantastic drone from DJI. The Phantom 4 Pro boasts a massive flight time of 30 minutes as well as a maximum range of 7km! The camera is also 4k and able to shoot in up to 60 fps and can shoot 12mp stills. The drone comes with a number of intelligent flight modes such as follow me, point of interest and way points. Specs wise this is very similar to the Mavic Pro, however the camera on the Phantom produces slightly better picture and its flight time is 3 minutes longer. 3. DJI SparkOk, the final drone on our list is the DJI Spark. This is DJI's latest release and is a fun little quad copter. Aimed at newbie recreational flyers, the DJI Spark is renowned for its ease of use and handy intelligent flight modes. The Spark has a flight time of 16 minutes and a maximum range of 1km when using the transmitter. The Spark is able to be controlled using a transmitter, smartphone or using gesture control. Gesture Control is where you fly the spark by using hand signals at the drones camera. The camera itself is able to shoot 1080p full HD video which is attached to the drone via a 2-axis gimbal. As well as this the drone has a plethora of intelligent flight modes which make it incredibly easy to fly.
Ok that's it for today guys, go and check out these drones if you don't know them already. They're all awesome and super easy to fly! Until next time :) Why The DJI Phantom 3 Standard Is The Best Value For Money Drone
Ok guys, I’ve kept my love for the DJI Phantom 3 Standard no secret, and in this article I’m going to be explaining why I think that it is the best value for money drone currently available. First of all, lets take a look at the competitors in that below $500 price range. The other top drones in this price range primarily consist of the Upair One, the Parrot Bebop 2 and the Xiro Explorer. We could throw the Yuneec Breeze in there as well, however that’s more of a selfie/mini drone so isn’t in direct competition with the P3S. Although all of those drones I mentioned above are pretty good, they’re either out dated (such as the Parrot Bebop 2) or simply do not have the specs to compete. The Parrot Bebop 2 was once a great drone…. 2 years ago. The Xiro Explorer, ok not bad but it’s more of an FPV exploring drone than a cinematic aerial quad copter. Not to mention the 3DR Solo, again out dated and requires your own action camera. In fact, 3DR have just announced that they are downsizing their operations and are starting to focus primarily on the aerial mapping segment of the market. Put simply, they’ve given up competing with DJI, and I don’t blame them. Now we know what the competition is like, lets have a look at the DJI Phantom 3 Standard itself. The DJI Phantom 3 Standard allows people to get a taste of what it is like flying a professional standard quad copter, whilst costing less than half what pro drones cost. This could be seen as the way that DJI are getting people ‘hooked on drones’, because we all know once you start flying, you can’t really stop. The price point of the DJI Phantom 3 Standard is so fantastic that those who before may never have had the chance to fly, now can whilst recording some pretty epic looking stuff. The specs of the Phantom 3 Standard are just mind blowing for the price you pay, 25 minutes of flight time, 1km range and can shoot in 2.7k. You can also shoot in 60fps at 1080p and shoot 12 megapixel photos. I mean, if this doesn’t explain it all, what else will? Oh yeah, its features. The P3S comes installed with a number of intelligent flight modes that allow even a complete novice to film some professional looking footage. These flight modes consist of waypoints, follow me and point of interest. Although not as packed with features as the more expensive models, it still gives the pilot the taste of some professional quality features that deliver amazing results. The drone is built to a fantastic standard, is super easy to fly thanks to its GPS positioning and is just overall a brilliant piece of engineering. Thanks for reading guys. As we’re approaching the one-week mark since the passing of Hurricane Harvey, the scale of the damage caused is becoming apparent. Already, atleast 48 people have lost their lives, homes destroyed and what is predicted to be $120 billion worth of damage. This makes it the countries most expensive natural disaster to date.
The director of the Center of Excellence on Unmanned Aircraft System Safety at the University of California has stated “this is one of the first big disasters where we can show how valuable drones can be”. How are they going to be helping? Well over the passing weeks we will see drones prove their worth in assessing damage in areas difficult or too dangerous to reach. With commercial drones currently able to travel up to 7km, their able to cover vast distances very fast. Not only this, they’re able to stay up in their air for around 30 minutes and send a live HD feedback to the operator. The plan is to use drones to asses the damage to homes, roads, bridges, power lines, oil and gas facilities, and office buildings. This will allow for the total damage to be calculated and also to establish whether or not these places are safe to be used again. Unfortunately, when a natural disaster on this scale occurs, the air space becomes restricted, meaning that commercially certified drone pilots are unable to get their drones in the air. The FAA has stated that this is due to the fact that pedestrian owned unmanned aerial vehicles could obstruct the response of emergency vehicles. The good news is that the FAA have concluded that allowing a number of drones to survey the area would be beneficial. As such, 48 UAV have been provided aerial access to the area. The drones vary from industrial standard DJI Matrices’ to the commercial DJI Mavic Pro. In fact, 8 of the drones authorized where DJI Mavic Pros’ and 10 of them DJI Phantom 4’s. These drone operators are going to be working alongside state officials, such as the state fire department. They will be providing footage so that the officials are able to decide whether or not the area is safe to return to. One drone operator has explained how he has been surveying a number of bridges in the area. He says that by providing clear HD footage, they are able to examine the strength of the bridges structure. Luckily, only a handful that he has inspected have been completely ruined, with some needing just minor repairs. My thoughts are with every one who has been affected by this event. |
